Civilians among 7 dead in security incidents
MAIDAN SHAHAR/ JALAL ABAD/ KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Three militants, including a commander, were killed and four others were wounded on Thursday in a military operation in Nerkh district of central Maidan Wardak province, the acting governor’s spokesman said.
Attaullah Khogyani added three more insurgents sustained injuries while security forces impounded seized three motorbikes of militants in Chak district. He said security forces remained unhurt in the offensive.
Separately, another rebel was killed and his associate wounded in a combat with security forces in Daimirdad district of Maidan Wardak province.
Taliban, however, did not yet comment on the incidents.
Samim Khpalwak, spokesman for acting governor of southern Kandahar province, told Pajhwok Afghan News two civilians died when their car they were travelling in hit a landmine in Arghandab district in Kandahar City.
Sarhadi Zwak, Laghman governor’s spokesman, said a girl died and a boy wounded in thunder lighting last night in Alingar district of the province.
