NFC Tigers Team win Million Cup Cricket tournament
KABUL (Pajhwok): The NFC Tigers Team has defeated Aero Bazan Team in the final Million Cup Cricket tournament played at International Cricket Stadium in Kabul, an official said Saturday.
The 20-ours match was organized by the Loba Cricket Club (LCC) organized a Million Cup Cricket tournament with the support of Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB).
Hamid Hassan, captain of the NFC Tigers won the toss and opted for batting. His team set 186-runs target for its rival.
Wasil Wisal, spokesman of the Million League, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the Aero Bazano team's captian Javed Ahmadi, also player of the national cricket team, could not achieve the target.
Present on the occasion, Nasimullah Danish, chairman Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), expressed optimism that future of Afghanistan cricket was brilliant and shining.
Cricket players from center and different zones took part in the event and Shamshad Television live broadcast all matches. Wisal, earlier, explained that the teams were divided into two groups and players above 19-year of age would participate in the tournament.
Karim Khan Sadiq led Nangarahar Ghazyano Team, Hamid Hassan NFC Tiger, Naw Roz Mangal Paktia Mashran, Mohammad Nabi Isakhail headed Daw-e-Atlan, Mirwais Ashraf Aero Bazan, Nasar Jamal Kandahar Shahan, Samim Sultani Afghan Rangers and Noor-ul-Haq Almasafi Tigers teams in the event.
LCC director Zarab Shah Zahir said they had been organizing Million Cup Cricket Tournament for the last three years and also ensured they planned for the successful completion of the tournament.
