Baghlan clash leaves 3 rebels dead
PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Three rebels have been killed and three others wounded during a clash in Dahna-i-Ghori district of northern Baghlan province, an official said Saturday.
Provincial police spokesman Javed Basharat told Pajhwok Afghan News rebels suffered casualties during a clearing operation in Bibi Gahwara area of the district last night.
The area, he said was completely cleared of rebels and a Kalashnikov and a motorcycle were also seized during the operation.
However, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed two policemen were killed and two Afghan Local Police (ALP) members wounded during the firefight.
Maulvi Qurban, a resident of the locality, said: “Militants arrive in here and inciting people against the government. They encouraged youth to join them and fight against the government.”
