Paktika airstrike, mine blast kill 11 rebels
KABUL (Pajhwok): At least 11 insurgents have been killed in foreign forces airstrikes and a mine explosion in southeastern Paktika province, an official said on Saturday.
Nabiullah Pirkhail, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News six militants were killed last night in air raid conducted by foreign forces in Khushamand district.
The second air assault, he said resulted in the killing of two insurgents when they were planting a mine. Militants took bodies of slain associates with themselves.
A local resident confirmed the killings of militants in airstrikes but had no details into casualties.
The spokesman said that security forces recovered huge arms during search operation.
Separately, three militants including their commander were killed when the mine they were planting went-off.
Taliban did not comment on the incidents.
