Ghani to evaluate performance of police chiefs
KABUL (Pajhwok): President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has asked police chiefs he would be satisfied only if people are pleased with their performance, a statement from the Presidential Palace said.
Addressing new police chiefs of some provinces, he said: “If you have the support of people you’ll have our support as well,” the president said this in his meeting with police officials. The meeting was attended by Interior Minister Noor-ul-Haq Uloomi.
The president said efforts were on to stop political interference in their duties, he added.
“People are watching your actions closely and I will get reports about your actions from each and every province,” Ghani said.
The minister of interior said the newly appointed police officials were experienced and they would leave no stone unturned to serve masses.
Police chiefs of Herat, Ghazni, Farah, Zabul, Parwan, Kapisa, Ghor and Nuristan attended the meeting.
