FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Ali Mohammad, 17 year-old-boy, was kidnapped, raped, and beaten severely by Hamid Bakhtwar who is not only a gunman but also Farah provincial council member’s cousin, the Afghanistaninfo-icon Human Rights Commission (AHRC) said in a statement on Wednesday.

The AHRO said that on April 15, Hamid Bakhtwar kidnapped the Ali Mohammad, a bakery employee, and took him to Bala Bolok district’s Dehzaki village. He and his six men brutally raped and tortured him.

He said the boy filed a report with the local police when the group released him. Three days later, police arrested Hamid  Bakhtwar on the 18th of April, but two hours later, he was released from police detention by the chairman of provincial council of Farah.

In addition, Hamid Bakhtwar threatened the boy’s family with death so that they keep silent. It has been said that Hamid Bakhwar has been arrested by the police for similar crimes before too but each time at the intervention of the director of provincial council, he has been released.

The AHRO said that it is pity that not only the poor kid’s voice is not heard and no one has cared for his wounds, but his family’s life and honor is seriously threatened too. The AHRO called on all the responsible government directorates in Farah province and central government to protect Ali Mohammad and his family’s life.

In addition, it demanded the government to provide proper treatment to the poor boy and serve  justice to Ali’s family by seriously follow up on the issue so that the criminals could be brought to justice.

The AHRO said that human rights and civil societyinfo-icon organizations and United Nations organizations should put pressure on the authorities and seriously follow up on the issue so that such injustices are eliminated.
