5 dead in fresh bout of violence in Zabul
QALAT (Pajhwok): At least three persons were killed in a mine blast and two others died in a land dispute, which left six others wounded in central Zabul province, a security and health official said on Friday.
Col. Ghulam Jilani Farahi, provincial police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News three people were killed when a car they were travelling in struck a landmine in Zakozo district.
A police team was sent in to the area to investigate the incident, Farahi added.
Lal Mohammad Tokhi, director public health, said two civilians were killed and six others wounded in a firefight between two groups. He confirmed the wounded were in stable condition.
Abdul Wali, a local resident, said the fight erupted due to a land dispute and both parties belonged to same village in the area.
