Afghanistan stands among miserable states
Sustainable Development Solution Network (SDSN), a global initiative for United Nations, published 2015 World Happiness Report (WHR) of 159 countries of the world.
Afghanistan and other war-stricken Syria and sub-Saharan countries such as Togo, Burundi, Benin, Rwanda, Burkina Faso, Ivory Cost, Guinea, and Chad among the 10 least happy of 158 states.
The report mentioned honesty, fairness, trust and good health as indicators while the report also said economic crisis or natural disaster did not crush happiness. India stands 111 in the list.
Switzerland is marked as the happiest country in the world where as Iceland, Denmark, Norway and Canada are among the top five happiest countries.
The 2015 World Happiness Report is the third annual report seeking to quantify happiness as a means of influencing government policy. The United Nations published the first study in 2012.
