7 injured in twin blasts near Khost PC office

KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Two back-to-back bomb explosions took place in front of the provincial council (PC) office in the capital of southeastern Khost province early on Monday morning, injuring at least seven people, an official said.

While Mubarez Zadran, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News three policemen wounded in the blasts had been hospitalized and their injuries were not life-threatening.

But a security official, requesting anonymity, said seven people, including five police and two university students, were wounded in the twin blasts. He said the injured had been taken a private hospital and one of them was said to be in critical condition.

Zabihullah Mujahid, a Talibaninfo-icon spokesman, said four policemen were killed and several others wounded in the blasts.
