27 Taliban insurgents killed in Kunduz
KABUL, KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): At least 27 militants including a prominent commander were killed in Imam Saheb in Imam Saheb district in northeastern Kunduz on Monday night, a communiqué from interior ministry said on Tuesday.
Mullah Mustafa, known as Shahdat, was among the top wanted list of security forces for his terrorist’s activities in the province. The press statement sent o Pajhwok Afghan News said the security forces would not spare anyone involved in any terrorist activities anywhere in the country.
Sarwar Hussaini, spokesperson of provincial police, confirmed killings of insurgents in the gun battle.
Taliban militants have yet to comment.
Taliban militants got control of some areas at the outskirts of Kunduz city for last few days.
Mohammad Omer Safi, governor Kunduz, said Taliban fighters were 7 kilometers away from Kunduz city.
Mohammad Ayub Salangi, deputy interior, and director public order police arrived to Kunduz to lead the military operation against Taliban.
