Ghani inaugurates Afghan embassy in New Delhi
KABUL (Pajhwok): President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani started first day of his visit with inauguration of Afghan embassy in New Delhi, the capital of India, on early Tuesday morning.
The land for Afghan embassy was allocated during King Zahir Shah in 1956 while the foundation stone of the embassy was laid during former king Sardar Mohammad Daoud Khan, a communiqué from President Palace (PP) in Kabul stated on Tuesday.
The reconstruction of the embassy was started during then former President Hamid Karzai while President Ghani officially inaugurated the embassy in his recent visit to Delhi in 2015.
President also met Afghan ambassador and other staff members.
According to press statement from PP, Ghani directed the embassy staff and ambassador to use all their efforts to solve all possible issues of Afghan students and Afghans living in India.
