Kabulis donate blood for injured security men
KABUL (Pajhwok): Hundreds of Kabul residents on Friday donated blood for security forces injured during ongoing clashes in northern Kunduz province.
The blood was donated as part of a campaign titled “unity guarantees survival of the country”, to express solidarity with Afghan security forces fighting in Kunduz.
Various units of Afghan security forces have been struggling to push back a large number of armed insurgents closing in on the provincial capital, Kunduz City.
Abdul Rahim Ayubi, the campaign’s organiser, urged people to support security forces against the enemies.
Around 2,000 insurgents, including foreign fighters, stormed the Imam Saheb district of Kunduz last Friday.
The Taliban claimed they had launched the attacks that reportedly left 140 insurgents and 20 security forces personnel dead.
