Rebels kill 3 kidnapped men in Zabul
QALAT (Pajhwok): Taliban militants killed three of five civilians they had kidnapped in southern Zabul province, an official said on Saturday.
The governor’s spokesman, Gul Islam Seyal, told Pajhwok Afghan News the five civilians were kidnapped in Spin Ghbargi area of Qalat, provincial capital, on the Kabul-Kandahar highway last Thursday.
He said all the five men were civilians and residents of Maqur district of Ghazni province.
He added the abductees included an engineer, but he had no information where the engineer worked.
Police found three bodies of the kidnapped civilians during a patrol on the Kabul-Kandahar highway on Saturday. The fate of the remaining two hostages remained unknown, Seyal said.
A doctor at the provincial civil hospital in Qalat, wishing not to be named, said they had been delivered three bodies.
The Taliban militants have not commented on the incident.
