Attacks in north carry special message: Khan
KABUL (Pajhwok): First deputy chief executive officer Mohammad Khan on Sunday voiced his concern over the growing insecurity in Afghanistan and said insurgent attacks in the north carried a special message.
Khan met deputy Resolute Support Mission commander in Kabul Lt. Gen. Carsten Jacobson and discussed with him the situation in northern Afghanistan, a statement from Khan’s office said.
Khan appreciated NATO forces in his meeting with Lt. Gen. Carsten Jacobsonm the statement said.
The deputy CEO said the international community did not provide Afghanistan the expected support, but now they should provide special support for security purposes.
He warned clashes in northern Afghanistan would prolong without active and immediate support from the international community.
Jacobson called Daesh presence and its activities a matter of concern, but said NATO forces were planning to restrict Daesh in the region.
He also said northern Kunduz province would never fall to militants though they held sway there.
