President vows transparent project contracts
KABUL (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghani on Sunday said practical measures were being taken to prevent corruption in procurement contracts.
Taking to UNOPS officials at his office here, the president said he personally chaired procurement committee meetings to ensure transparency in funding and implementing mega projects.
He said the unity government was committed to bringing reforms and eliminating corruption from the system.
Separately, President Ghani met with members of the parliamentary committee on corruption.
The committee members shared their views with the president corruption in government institutions and floated suggestions how to eradicate the menace.
President Ghani said the unity government was committed to eliminating corruption from all government entities and asked the parliamentary committee to support the government in this regard.
