2 dead, 14 wounded in suicide attack on AGO's staff vehicle
KABUL (Pajhwok): Two killed and 14 more wounded after a suicide bomber targeted Attorney General’s staff vehicle early Monday morning in capital Kabul, officials said.
Lt. Gen. Abdul Rahman Rahimi, Kabul police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News a female employee of AGO and the vehicle’s driver were killed in the attack. He added 12 other employees and two passersby were wounded.
Brig Gen Humayun, 119 police chief, said the suicide bomber targeted the staff vehicle at 8:30 am near centauriem area in capital Kabul.
Sediq Seddiqi, interior ministry spokesman, confirmed the incident and said the suicide bomber was a pedestrian who blew himself up.
Fazal Rahman, a resident of the area, said the suicide bomber targeted the staff van and security forces cordoned off the area soon after the attack.
Zabihulla Mujahid, Taliban spokesman, said the group was behind the attack, claiming the staff suffered high number of casualties.
