Iran’s interference in Afghanistan affairs denounced

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Afghanistaninfo-icon Milli Ghorzang, a political party, on Thursday staged a huge rally in front of Iranian Embassy in the capital Kabul, denouncing Tehran’s growing political and cultural influence in Afghanistan affairs and societyinfo-icon.

Over a hundred enraged protesters demanded strict observation of Iranian diplomats and asked the government to disclose details of Afghan and Iranian officials meeting.

Supporters of Milli Gorzang started the rally from Shahr-i-Naw Park and gathered in front of the Iranian Embassy. They chanted anti-Iranian slogans and denounced political and cultural influence of Tehran.

The protesters demanded ban on pro-Iranian media outlets and organizations getting funds from the country that was under sanctions by the worldinfo-icon community.

The protesters were of the opinion that Iranian cultural domination would leave far-reaching negative impact on Afghanistan.

Shafi Azam, an organizer of the rally, told Pajhwok Afghan News Iran had been trying to fuel ethnic and linguistic differences among Afghans. He said the purpose of the protest was to draw the attention of government and people to tackle Iran’s nefarious designs.

Another participant Nazir Samon said Iran wanted to get its goals in Afghanistan by spreading ethnic tension among Afghans. He said Iran provided money to some individuals in parliament and others government institution to spread its agenda.

At the end, the protesters adopted a resolution demanding the government to summon Iranian ambassador and keep the embassy officials under strict observation.
