Law be implemented in letter and spirit: President
KABUL (Pajhwok): President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani asked minister of justice on Sunday that all steps in contravention of law be immediately suspended and ensure rule of law.
The president expressed this in his meeting with Minister of Justice Abdul Basir to evaluate his 100-day plan. Basir was accompanied by several other officials from his ministry to attend the meeting.
Ghani emphasized that law should be implemented in letter and spirit to facilitate people so that strong foundation could be laid for next generation. He emphasized that short and mid-term plans should be worked out and implemented.
The reforms in the ministry of justice were one of the main points in 100-day plan and comprehensive plan should be pursued.
The president highlighted that a comprehensive plan should be revised for least educated and unqualified people so that they could be included in the nation building process.
The minister of justice presented his work plan in four different sections including formation of law, legal services, issuing of permits and administrative and management affairs.
