Noted Uruzgan poet dies in roadside bombing

TARINKOT (Pajhwok): A noted poet and writer was killed in a roadside bombing in central Uruzgan province on Tuesday, an official said.

Dost Mohammad Nayab, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place at around 7:00am in the Park locality of Chorai district.

He confirmed Dawar Khan Khaksar was killed in the bombing while he was on his way to a medical store. The slain poet did not have any government job.

He said Khaksar was an eminent poet who had written few books. He contested last year’s provincial council election but could not win the ballot.
