Kidnappers’ group busted in Nangarhar
JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A group of four militants involved in several high-profile kidnapping cases have been detained by police in eastern Nangarhar province, an official said Thursday.
Ahmad Zia Abdulzai, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the group was detained by intelligence operatives in Jalalabad city, the provincial capital, on Wednesday night.
He said the group was planning to abduct a businessman Gul Nabi Hadawal.
A statement from the governor’s house said the kidnapping of the Hadawal was ordered by the group’s commander Mansoor Hadiar.
The statement identified the detainees as Hayatullah, Khalid Ghalib, Toor and Ibrahim.
