Kunduz to get 1,000 strong ALP force
KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): The governor of northern Kunduz province on Monday said 1,000 strong Afghan Local Police (ALP) force would be deployed to the province to bolster security and law and order.
Mohammad Umar Safi said tribal elders had been tasked to help introduce individuals from their localities to be part of the new force. He added after the completion of recruitment process the lists of individuals would be sent to capital Kabul for approval.
In the meantime, the residents of Kunduz demanded inclusion of illegal armed men, roaming on the streets in the province Kunduz, in the ALP force.
But safi said the government did not want recruitment of illegal armed men in the ALP force, saying these individual did not show respect to law of the land.
The ALP officials discharged their duties under the supervision of Ministry of Interior in their localities.
