Work on vital Panjsher bridge launched
PARAKH (Pajhwok): The construction work on a vital bridge in Paryan district of central Panjsher province has been launched, officials said on Tuesday.
Abdul Rahman Kabiri, acting governor, told Pajhwok Afghan news the bridge was being built at a cost of 7.5 million afs funded by the World Bank (WB).
“Apart from facilities to traders, construction of this bridge will facilitate thousands of commuters in Paryan district,” he said.
The nine metres long and seven metres wide bridge would connect around 500 families in Kalakwa locality.
Shah Mahmood, a local elder, said: “Without a proper passage, we are faced a number of problems. After completion of the bridge, the distance would reduce to two-kilometres.”
Two weeks back also, two bridges were inaugurated in Anaba and Khenj districts of the province and both the projects were funded by the World Bank.
