Gunmen kill Takhar district attorney, his son
TALOQAN (Pajhwok): The attorney investigation director of Ashkmash district of northeastern Takhar province was killed along with his son by unidentified gunmen on Wednesday morning, an official said.
Provincial police spokesman Maj. Khalil Ahmad Haseeb told Pajhwok Afghan News district attorney Sayed Ahmad and his son were killed when unknown gunmen opened fire on them in the district bazaar at around 8: 00 am this morning.
He said the incident was being investigated at different angles but no one was arrested in connection to the attack. Taliban did not comment on the incident so far.
According to another report, a civilian was killed and another injured in an armed attack in northern Jawzjan province.
Jawzjan police chief Col. Abdul Hafiz said unidentified gunmen attacked a civilian house and beat the husband and wife in Bitab Kama village of Darzab district last night. He said the husband of the woman was shot to dead but the woman was severely injured.
A Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said he was unaware about the incident.
