President fires 6 Urban Ministry officials
KABUL (Pajhwok): President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on Thursday sacked six senior officials of the Ministry of Urban Development for their alleged involvement in corruption and restricted them from leaving the country.
A statement from the Presidential Palace said that the president held meeting with officials of the ministry and attorney general Noor Habib Jalal. The president directed the ministry’s officials to accelerate fight against graft and demonstrate more transparency in building apartments.
The officials if found involved in corruption would be dealt as per law of the land, he warned, directing the attorney general to take necessary steps against the six officials involved in misappropriation.
The names of the ministry’s officials that included in the list are, Ahmad Nawaz Bakhtyar, Mohammad Amin Qanay, Ahmad Shah Himat, Mohammad Amin Amin, Eng. Gul Rahim Zyarmal and Sayed Aman Sadaat.
