21 projects executed under NSP in Balkh
MAZAR-I-Sharif (Pajhwok): Twenty-one projects have been completed under the National Solidarity Program (NPS) in the Kaldar district of northern Balkh province, an official said on Tuesday.
NPS director for the northern zone, Farid Ahmad Saadat, told Pajhwok Afghan News the Rural Rehabilitation and Development Department implemented the schemes at a cost of more than 44 million Afghanistan. Most of the projects were related to electricity, he added.
He said the projects included stretching a 72-kilometers electricity transmission line, installing six electricity poles, transformers and erecting 1479 other poles made of concrete.
At least 4007 families in 21 villages would benefit from the projects, Saadat said, adding the NPS had been focused on 934 villages.
Mohammadullah, a local resident, said they had to confront several issues in the absence of electricity, but the projects addressed their concerns.
