Policeman involved in colleagues killing held
PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): A policeman allegedly involved in the killing of his six colleagues has been detained in central Logar province, an official said on Tuesday.
Sher Dawood Aryan, police chief of criminal department, told Pajhwok Afghan News Hazrat Mohammad, the former policeman, poisoned his six companions and then shot them dead at Chiltan police check post in Baraki Barak district.
Later, Hazrat Mohammad took all ammunitions and weapons and joined Taliban, he added.
Aryan said: “Hazrat Mohammad left to Iran soon after the incident and came back three days ago. We arrested him last night since.” Hazrat Mohammad confessed to committing the crime and his case would be sent to justice organs for further proceedings, he said.
Mohammad Rahim Amin, the district chief, confirmed Hazrat Mohammad’s arrest and said that he had brutally killed his colleagues.
Separately, Aryan said police arrested a person with Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) who wanted to blow up police vehicles.
Taliban militants have yet to comment on the incidents.
