Uruzgan gets new deputy police chief

TRINKOT (Pajhwok): Brother of late Matiullah Khan, former provincial police chief, has been appointed as provincial deputy police chief for central Uruzgan province, an official of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said on Tuesday. 

Matiullha Khan was gunned down in capital Kabulinfo-icon and his assassination was followed by a thorough investigation but no headway could be made in his killing.

Toryali Abdyani, provincial police chief, civilians and military officials, local elders and religious leaders participated in the ceremony of Col. Rahimullah Khan as new provincial deputy police chief for Uruzgan.

Toryali regarded Rahimullah as best choice for the position and extended his complete cooperation to resolve the issues of the area. He also added that the newly appointed provincial deputy police chief had complete support of local people.

Col Rahimullah Khan thanked officials for their trust to appoint him deputy police chief. He reassured that he would utilize his efforts to eliminate terrorism from the area and would follow his late brother’s mission. 

Several local elders and residents appreciated MoI for nominating Rahimullah Khan as provincial deputy police chief in the province.

Former governor and local elder Khudai Rahim Khan assured local’s support to the newly appointed deputy chief and called it a good gesture.
