Drone strike, violence leave 2 dead in Kunar
ASADABAD (Pajhwok): One alleged foreign insurgent was killed in unmanned drone strike, four other wounded in mortar shell while another died in road mishap in eastern Kunar province, officials said on Monday.
Brig. Gen. Abdul Habib Syedkhel, provincial police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News a person was killed and seven others were injured in a traffic accident in Asadabad, the capital of Kunar Monday morning.
Dr. Farooq Sahak, Director civilian hospital, confirmed receiving a dead body and seven others wounded with one among them in critical condition.
A foreign insurgent was also killed in drone attack the other day in Chapa Dara district, the police chief said. He did not mention the nationality of the slain militant.
Separately, four civilians had been wounded when Taliban militants fired mortar shells in Manogay district, Saidkhail said.
Taliban militants have not commented regarding the incidents so far.
