Security men among 10 dead in Kapisa offensive
MAHMOOD RAQI (Pajhwok): Six militants, including a prominent commander, were killed and five others were wounded during an operation in central Kapisa province, the Afghan military said on Wednesday.
The Afghan National Army’s 201s military corps in a press release said the operation had been started against militants in Pachghan and Afghnia areas involving personnel from the corps, national police, public order police, Afghan Local Police (ALP) and the National Directorate of Security (NDS).
A notorious Taliban commander Qari Malik was among six others killed and as many others wounded in the operation. The dead bodies of the slain militants were left in the area.
Khwaja Agha Sapi, an ALP commander, told Pajhwok Afghan News three ANA soldiers and one ALP man were killed and two others were wounded in the operation. He said the militants suffered heavy losses in the operation, which would be extended to a third day.
