Daikundi female governor inefficient to run affairs: MPs
NEILI (Pajhwok): Some members of parliament from central Daikundi province on Saturday staged sit-in against the newly appointed governor and asked the government to reconsider the decision.
But Masuma Muradi, the only women governor appointed by the Independent Directorate of Local Governance (IDLG), pledged to serve the people of Daikundi in letter and spirit.
Over 20 lawmakers, including Nasrullah Sadiqi Neilizada, Mohammad Noor Akbari and Fatima Akbari staged protest in front of the governor house.
They claimed the new governor did not have the qualification and was inefficient to the run the affairs of the province. The lawmakers asked the government take back its decision regarding Muradi appointment.
Lawmaker Mohammad Noor Akbari, who is also deputy director of the National Solidarity Party (NSP), said people of Daikundi always supported the government by authorities paid little attention to develop the province.
The former lawmaker and second deputy of Qayyum Karzai during presidential election defended Murad’s predecessor and said the former governor launched multiple development projects.
Sadiqi Neilizada said Daikundi needed roads, hospitals, airports and former governor Shafiq had made several achievements in the area.
But Governor Masuma Muradi said she would discharge her duties with zeal and enthusiasm to further develop the province.
