1 dead, 9 injured in Khost, Paktia blasts
KHOST-GARDEZ (Pajhwok): A civilian was killed and nine others wounded in two separate blasts in southeastern Khost and Paktia provinces, officials said on Monday.
Brig. Gen. Faizullah Ghairat, Khost police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News a civilian was killed and three others, including a policeman, wounded when a bomb in went-off at around 10: am near Speen mosque in Khost City, the provincial capital.
The injured, he said were instantly shifted to a local hospital. Kazim, an eye witness, told Pajhwok Afghan News the explosion was so powerful that it shook the entire locality. A number of wounded were evacuated to hospital in police vehicles.
Maj. Gen. Zalmay Oryakhail, Paktia police chief, said five persons including women and children were injured in a bomb blast in Said Karam district. He said that all the wounded were in stable condition.
Taliban have not yet commented on the incidents.
