Food items distributed among disaster-hit families
PARKH (Pajhwok): A Saudi Arabian based welfare organization has distributed food items among avalanche-hit families in central Panjsher province, an official said on Monday.
Over 200 people lost their lives, dozens of homes were buried under snow last winter as a result of heavy avalanche.
Deputy Governor Abdul Khabir Bakhshi told Pajhwok Afghan News the food items were distributed among 1,000 families in the past seven days who were affected by the natural disaster.
The food items included 50 kilogram wheat, 25 kilograms rice, 10 kilograms oil, five kilograms beans, and 3.5 kilograms of sugar.
Hassan Aldarwish Shahir, representative of the welfare organization, said the food items were distributed among the residents of provincial capital and Shatil, Anaba, Rakah, Khanj, Dara, Paryan, Hisa-i-Daum districts who suffered huge losses due to natural disaster.
