3 million Afghan children facing threats: Minister (Video)
KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Martyrs and Disabled on Tuesday voiced grave concernat the situation of children in Afghanistan, saying around three million minors were under threat.
Labour and Social Affairs Minister Nasrin Oryakhel, speaking at an event on child labour, acknowledged working children needed utmost care. “There are 14.5 million children in Afghanistan, out of whom three million are facing danger and need care.”
Oryakhelsaid 1.9 million children in Afghanistan were busy doing hard labour. “Our figures show an increase in violence against children. They need care and to provide safer lives for them, we need to join hands.”
