Governor wants UNAMA focus to develop Laghman
JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The newly-appointed governor of eastern Laghman province urged United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) to specifically focus on launching development projects in this strategically important province.
Governor Abdul Jabbar Naeemi told this in his meeting with Heran Song, UNAMA chief in eastern zone, the governor’s spokesman Sarhadi Zwak told Pajhwok Afghan News on Saturday.
The eastern zone UNAMA chief pledged they would fully support development schemes in the province. “I will encourage UN officials to extend all possible cooperation for implementation of these projects,” he added.
The governor stressed that progress, prosperity and development in the province would ensure peace in the area and bring down the poverty ratio.
“I’m happy that UNAMA office is very much active in this eastern zone,” the governor added.
