Jun 24, 2015 - 18:03

FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Gunmen on a motorcycle shot dead a policeman in the capital of western Farah province on Wednesday afternoon, an official said.

Police spokesman Iqbal Baahar identified the slain policeman as Abdul Zahir, who was killed in Farah City in a crowded bazaar.

Abdul Zahir was shopping in police uniform when gunmen riding a bike shot him dead before making their escape good, he said, adding an investigation into the incident had been opened.

Mohammad Jawad, a relative of the slain policeman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the gunmen fired three bullets at Abdul Zahir when he came out of the market, rode his bike and started moving.

The gunmen shot him in the head, killing him on the spot, the relative said.

No group has claimed the responsibility for the murder.
