3 dead after bitten by stray dogs

Jun 26, 2015 - 14:43

MAIDAN SHAHR (Pajhwok): Three persons died after they were bitten by stray dogs in central Maidan Wardak province, an official said on Friday.

Attaullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the dead persons hailed from Narkh, Syedabad and Chak districts.

Those died did not visit healthinfo-icon center for timely vaccinations, he said, adding that their families did not take vaccination seriously. Khogyani added Zeba 3, Qari Sharifullah 27, and Abdullah 35 were among the dead.

The public health department launched a cleanup operation against stray dogs in which around 500 stray dogs had been killed during the last one month in Syedabad and Chak districts, he recalled.

Khogyani feared death toll could increase as there were more dogs bitten persons who have lack of awareness about treatment.
