Another leading al-Qaeda member killed in Afghanistan
KABUL (Pajhwok): A leading and most senior al-Qaeda member who was believed to be the person who set up training centres for fighters in Afghanistan was killed in missile strike by unmanned aircraft, media reports.
Three days back, the media said the main known as Abdul Azaam Al Subhi aka Mansoor al Harbi and Abu Muslim al-Makki was killed in US airstrike in Afghanistan.
However, the media didn’t give further details about exact location and time of the missile attack.
Saudi Arabia media said the slain al-Makki was a Saudi national and he was among the top most wanted persons to Riyadh. In addition, al-Makki was also wanted to the US as well. His name was Azaam Abdullah Zariq al-Muwalid al-Subhi.
The US State Department said al-Makki arrived in Afghanistan some ten years back and tied a knot with Afghan woman. It stated that the slain Saudi national travelled to Pakistan and Iran with different names.
