Efforts for peace, stability to be stepped up: Mangal
KABUL (Pajhwok): Minister for Borders and Tribal Affairs Mohammad Gulab Mangal has said efforts have been stepped up to ensure greater peace and unity in the country.
He expressed these views during signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tribes Coordination and Solidarity Centre (TCSC) here in Kabul.
Referring to the agreement, Mangal termed it vital for peace and stability in the country. He said that his ministry and the TCSC would work jointly to build peace, national unity, and talks to insurgents and arrangement of local Jirga meetings to address problems.
He said reorganization and strengthening of locals’ council could contribute to the nascent peace process.
With the cooperation of TCSC and tribal council, every avenue would be explored to build tangible peace in the country.
Mohammad Ismail Qasimyar, head of the Bayat Tribe Council, welcomed the MoU and said the role of tribal elders was vial in bringing peace to the war-torn country.
