62 welfare projects implemented in Herat, Farah
HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Thousands of families would benefit as 62 welfare projects have been implemented in western Herat and Farah provinces, officials said Monday.
Herat officials said that 46 projects were executed in Herat and 16 other projects were implemented in the neighboring Farah province.
Herat governor’s spokesman Ehsanullah Hayat told Pajhwok Afghan News that the projects were implemented in Guzra district of the province, costing 70 million Afghanis.
He said that the budget for the projects was paid by the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD).
The welfare projects included reconstruction of three water supply networks, four schools, bridges construction of roads, embankment walls and a canalization system.
Implementing of agriculture programs and equipping of schools and local development councils were other projects.
Public relations director of the National Solidarity Program (NSP) of the MRRD, Lida Ahmadi, said that 16 projects were implemented in Farah province.
She said that the projects included construction of 34 small bridges, building a 75 meter embankment wall and digging of 78 wells for clean water in Lasho Join, Shib Koh and Pusht Rod districts of Farah.
Ahmadi said the projects’ cost over 16 million Afghanis and paid by the MRRD.
