40 injured in Lashkargah suicide attack
LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): A suicide bomber rammed his explosive-laden car to the police station, leaving dozens of persons wounded in Lashkargah, the provincial capital of southern Helmand province on Tuesday morning, an eye witness said.
Rehmatullah, an eye witness, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the bomber smashed his car filled with explosive at the back side of the police station.
The attacker wanted to force his way inside the facility but he could not succeeded because the police station was well fortified, he added.
A medic wishing anonymity in the emergency department in Lashkargah hospital told Pajhwok Afghan News that 40 wounded persons had been shifted to the hospital for treatment. Two policemen were among the injured while the rests were civilians, he added.
