2 deputy ministers, Jawzjan governor appointed
KAB UL (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghani has appointed two deputy ministers at the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and a new governor for northern Jawzjan province.
A statement from the Presidential Palace said Dr. Karim Baz has been appointed as deputy administration and finance minister at the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and Syed Qutbuddin Roidad as deputy parliamentary affairs minister through a decree.
The decree said the two men had been appointed in line with the ministry’s recommendation.
Roidad had previously served as deputy regional officer with the Independent Election Commission and head of the Administration Affairs Office and the Council of Ministers Secretariat Office.
He had worked as government advisor with the Independent Directorate of Local Governance (IDLG).
Dr. Karim Baz was deputy minister for finance, administration and parliamentary affairs at the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, which had previously one deputy minister.
Meanwhile, the president has appointed Maulvi Lutfullah Azizi as new governor for northern Jawzjan province.
The presidential decree said Azizi had been appointed in response to a recommendation from the IDLG.
