3 Helmand civilians dead in Afghan forces, Taliban clash
LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): At least three members of two families have been killed and four others wounded in exchange of gunfire between Afghan security forces and militants in southern Helmand province, an official said Friday.
Mohammad Sharif Khan, Musa Kala district chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News intense fight erupted between security forces and Taliban fighters in Kanra Manda area, which left one person dead and three others, two brothers and their sister wounded.
A mortar shell hit a residential compound, which caused casualties among civilians, he added.
However, the district chief did not say who fired the rocket towards civilian population.
Separately, Sharif said a hand-grenade went-off inside the home of Abdul Ghafoor, Afghan Local Police (ALP), which left his wife and daughter dead and his son injured.
