Forces recapture 3 Jalrez districts check posts
MAIDAN SHAHR (Pajhwok): After regaining control of three security check posts, security forces have extended anti-militants operation in Jalrez district in central Maidan Wardak province, official said on Saturday.
Attaullah Khogyani, the governor spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News Afghan forces had extended search operation and seized the check posts from militants.
Both security forces and Taliban fighters suffered heavy casualties but he did not exact figure into fatalities.
The spokesman said Maidan Wardak- Bamyan main highway had been opened for traffic the other evening.
On Friday, at least 30 militants and 18 Afghan Local Policemen (ALP) have been killed and 18 other rebels wounded in Kabul-Bamyan highway clashes in central Maidan Wardak province.
The lawmakers claimed in a press conference that 30 security forces had been killed in the fight.
Taliban also had claimed killing scores of security forces and seizing several check posts.
