Police officer among 6 dead in road mishap, security incidents
CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): A police commander and his bodyguard were killed in a militant attack while another man died in a road accident in central Parwan province, an official said Wednesday.
Separately, three people were killed and four others wounded in a car crash in western Herat province.
Mohammad Masum Farzaee, Bagram district police chief in Parwan, told Pajhwok Afghan News that police commander Wali Ullah was seriously wounded but one of his bodyguards was killed in a militants’ ambush in Qalandar Khail area of the district on Tuesday evening.
He said that Wali Ullah was succumbed to injuries in an hospital in Kabul today morning.
A provincial council member Mohammad Mujib Shorish who last week survived a bomb attack in Parwan, said: “Security situation is deteriorating in Bagram. Few days ago, a former Jihadi commander was assassinated and I also survived a bomb attack. The government should pay attention to beef up security.”
Elsewhere in the province, one person was killed in a road mishap in Jabal Al-Saraj district of Parwan.
A doctor in Parwan civil hospital Dr. Ishaq Nasimi said that a nurse of Munara Health Clinic was killed when his vehicle crashed with a Corolla car in Pushta Surkh area of the district last evening.
According to another report, three people were killed and four others injured in a car accident in western Herat province.
Herat zonal hospital director in emergency Azizur Rahman Jami said the incident took place when a truck veered off the road in Teer Pul area on Herat-Islam Qala road today at around 11:00am.
He said the three onboard the truck killed and four others wounded in the accident.
