350,000 families get Ramazan aid countrywide
The assistance, being distributed amid the holy month of Ramazan, has given to teachers, government employees, disabled, employees of municipalities.
Assadullah Zameer, minister of agriculture, told journalists in Kabul 100 kilograms of wheat was allocated for each family.
“We have warehouses in Kabul, Balkh, Herat, Baghlan, Bamyan, Daikundi, Badghis and Uruzgan where we distribute wheat to needy families. In the province give cash in provinces where we don’t have warehouses,” He added.
According to Zameer, a joint committee from representatives of education, refugees, labour and social affairs and agriculture ministries and natural disaster management authority have been formed in Kabul to monitor transparency in aid distribution.
Babrak, an internally displaced person from Helmand province who lives with his family in a tent in Kabul, said every morning he went looking for a job but came back home empty handed.
