Scores of Taliban fighters eliminated in Faryab operations
KABUL/MAIMANA (Pajhwok): At least 34 Taliban, including two group leaders and trainers of suicide bombers, have killed in operations in northwestern Faryab province, the National Directorate of Security (NDS) says on Monday.
The group commanders Rahmatullah and Abdullah and 28 other Taliban were perished during clearing operation in the Sherin Tagab district. The Heavily-armed insurgents used torture tactics and force people to pay Usher and Zakat in Astana Babai locality, a statement from the spy network said.
Ali and Atta Murad, the trainers of suicide bombers, along with two other companions were killed in the Dawlatabad and Almar districts in separate operation by security forces.
In Andkhoi district, one security official was killed and another wounded in Taliban attack on a convoy on Dawlatabad-Andkhoi highway, Maj. Mohammad Raza Raza, spokesman for the 209th Shahin Military Corps said.
He said security forces arrested a notorious Taliban fighter Abdul Bari and regained control of three check-posts in Almar district.
