Tribal elder, 2 women killed in separate incidents

MAIDAN SHAHR/ FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): A tribal elder has been killed by Talibaninfo-icon militants in Jalrez district of central Maidan Wardak province while police have recovered dead bodies of two womeninfo-icon in western Farah province.

Attaullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News tribal elder Sarwar Ahmadzai was killed by insurgents in Takani  area of Jalrez district last night.

Seven days ago, militants abducted the tribal elder from Kabulinfo-icon-Bamyan highway, he said, adding that his dead body was recovered from Narkh district late Sunday.

Sarwar Ahamdzai was living in Jalrez district and he was a leading elder and played a significant role in disputes solution.

Governor Hayatullah Hayat condemned assassination of Ahamdzai and formed a team to investigate the incident and take the perpetrators to justice.

Taliban did not comment on the incident so far.

Separately, two women were found dead in Ghulam Khan area in the capital of Farah province.

Provincial police spokesman Iqbal Baher said the slain women could not be identified. He said police have shifted bodies of the women for investigation.

Abdul Hakim Rasooli, director civil hospital, said the slain women have gun shots on their bodies.
