6 militants killed, 7 hurt in Kapisa operation
MAHMOOD RAQI (Pajhwok): At least six militants have been killed and seven others wounded during a search operation by the military in central Kapisa province, an official says on Tuesday.
Brig. Gen. Abdul Karim Faiq, provincial police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the operation was carried out in Tagab and Ala Sai districts. The area between Tagab center and Ala Sai has been purged of militants, he added.
Security forces, he said had been deployed on main Kabul-Sarobi and Main Kapisa highways to avoid any untoward incident on Eid days.
Faiq assured that people would spend Eid in peaceful environment. Shah Agha, a resident of Tagab district, said insurgents came out on main highways and search government officials during Eid days.
Many government officials could not spend Eid holidays with their families due to fear of militants, he added.
At least ten civilians had been killed in a road side bomb between Ala Sai and Tagab district the other day.
