5 ALP men, 6 rebels killed in Nangarhar, Laghman
JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Five policemen and six Taliban fighters have been killed during a clash and a drone strike in eastern Laghman and Nangarhar provinces, officials said on Thursday.
The five Afghan Local Police (ALP) men, including their group commander Samiullah, were killed in a Taliban ambush in Laghman, the governor’s spokesman, Sarhadi Zwak, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The incident took place in the Badiabad locality of Mehtarlam, the provincial capital. The dead ALP officials included two sons of the slain commander.
In Nangarhar, six insurgent were killed in a drone strike late on Wednesday in the Haska Mina district, said Ahmad Zia Abdulzai, the governor’s spokesman.
