Ghor governor donates gold necklace to mosque
The construction of the mosque in Ferozkoh, the provincial capital, came to a halt two years ago due to lack of funds. The necklace worth 60,000 afghanis will be sold to complete work on the mosque.
Sima Joyenda, the governor, said she had bought the necklace 20 years back and it was very dear to her. hile handing her necklace to the hajj and religious affairs department, she said it was imperative for Muslims to donate their valuable belongings for holy causes.
She said she had also donated another 100,000 from the provinceial budget to the construction of the mosque. “We will continue our efforts for the completion of the mosque. Its construction has been stopped in the past two years due to lack of funds,” she added.
Sima Joyenda said another 1.2 million afghanis was needed for the completion of the mosque and urged all the men and women, traders and businessmen to take part in the good deed and donate their sums to construction of the mosque.
